Job Description:

Seeking a dynamic and highly motivated leader for a start-up company spun out of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan (www.fibrosix.com). The successful candidate serve as full-time CEO of FibrosIX Inc. S/he will also hold a 50% position as MSU Foundation Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) as part of their support for the company.

Primary responsibilities will be to: serve as the Principle Investigator of a funded SBIR grant (R43-CA235823-01) which aims to develop a novel anti-fibrotic agent, coordinate work by CROs, perform in vitro studies and/or supervise lab staff, prepare new SBIR applications (Ph 1 and Ph 2), manage company finances, and  explore other funding and partnering opportunities.

FibrosIX Inc. is located in the Van Camp Incubator and Research Labs near the MSU campus in East Lansing. The founders are Richard Neubig, MD, PhD, Professor and Chair, MSU Pharmacology and Toxicology and Scott Larsen, PhD, Joseph Burckhalter Collegiate Research Professor and former Director of the Vahlteich Medicinal Chemistry Core, College of Pharmacy, University of Michigan. Preference will be given to individuals who can locate to Michigan, but remote work may be possible for the right candidate.

Requirement Description: A PhD or other advanced degree in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field is required. Experience in drug discovery and/or development is highly desired.
